Frequently Asked Questions
SJCA Enrollment FAQ
If I accept an offer for one campus, can I remain on the waitlist for the other campus?
Yes, you may remain on the waitlist of the campus of your choice.
How do I enroll my student in SCJA?
Enrollment has two parts. First, parents must fill out an application for SJCA’s enrollment lottery via SchoolMint. If you are offered a seat, you will be given instructions for completing the second part of enrollment.
Where can I learn more about the enrollment process?
For more information, email [email protected].
Can I tour SJCA?
Tours are offered at each campus. Please contact your preferred campus to schedule a tour.
Are preferences given to certain students in the lottery process?
Once the application period has ended, in the event that more students have applied to a specific grade than there are seats available by the deadline established by St. Johns Classical Academy, a lottery will be held to determine which students will be offered the open seats. The following students may be given a priority in the admission process under state law:
1. Scholars who were enrolled with St. Johns Classical Academy the year before.
2. Scholars whose parents are employees of St. Johns Classical Academy.
3. Scholars whose parents are a member of the founding Board of Directors of St. Johns Classical Academy.
4. Scholars who have siblings enrolled with St. Johns Classical Academy.
Are siblings of current students guaranteed admission?
Any siblings of SJCA scholars will have priority placement during the enrollment process as per Florida Statutes.
How will a sibling of a new student be treated?
Siblings will have a priority placement once the new student completes the registration process.
If my child is accepted, will they need to participate in the lottery each year?
No, you will need to complete an Intent to Return once a year to maintain enrollment.
If my child is on a waitlist, how will I know when admission has been offered?
You will be automatically notified by email. Text notifications are used as reminders that an email has been sent.
If my child is offered admission, is he/she automatically enrolled?
No, this is the first step of enrollment. You will be required to send in documents. Once the documents are approved you will receive instructions for next steps.
Does the waitlist carry over into the next school year?
Yes. Apply one time. An application is valid until it is withdrawn, rescinded or declined.
Are my child's test scores or grades considered during the admission process?
No.
With so many students on the waitlist, are you considering opening additional classrooms per grade?
No. We are at our planned capacity.
Is there an enrollment or application fee?
There are no fees required to apply to or attend the school. Uniform and subsequent materials are the responsibility of the legal guardian.
If I donate to the school, will my child be given preferential treatment or be guaranteed a place in the school?
No.
Are children with IEPs served at SJCA?
